As part of my ongoing series celebrating Australia's remarkable birdlife, this watercolour explores the quiet connection between a pair of Gang-gang Cockatoos. I was drawn to the intricate patterns of their feathering and the striking contrast between the male's rich crimson head and the soft greys of his companion. Through careful observation and layered washes, I sought to capture both their beauty and their gentle companionship, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the character and fragility of these much-loved native birds.
